PEERS gives WEEKLY afternoon dance classes at the Alameda Elks Lodge at 2255 Santa Clara Avenue in Alameda every Sunday afternoon.
2 - 3 pm: Newcomer-friendly class
3 - 4 pm: For experienced dancers & brave newcomers
The 2:00 - 3:00 pm class is newcomer-friendly and focuses on the basics; the 3:00 - 4:00 pm class is for experienced dancers and brave newcomers and will cover more advanced variations and intriguing choreographies. The $10 class fee covers one or both classes!
Our March classes will focus on the exciting vintage ballroom and set dances for our April 1 event, Sir Galavant's April Fool's Day Ball , a fantasy costume ball at the grand ballroom of the Alameda Elks Lodge.
No partners needed. We change partners frequently and our regular students are experienced dancers who will be happy to dance with you. Casual clothing or dance practice clothes are just fine, though some ladies do like to practice dancing their corsets! Soft-soled dance shoes that you can easily slide or glide in are recommended.
Note: All levels of dance experience are welcome but inexperienced dancers are strongly advised not to attempt the 3 pm class without taking the 2 pm Newcomer class that precedes it.
If you have questions, feel free to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org PEERS also gives private dance lessons. If interested, contact us at the same address.
Note: If an emergency requires us to cancel a particular Sunday's class, we will list this information on both the PEERS website and on our Facebook invitation and Facebook Group Page. This rarely happens but it's always a good idea to double check either our website or our Facebook page on the day of the class.
