Join us in celebrating the romantic friendship of Lady Eleanor Butler and Miss Sarah Ponsonby and their brilliant careers as landscape gardeners in late 18th Century England! In honour of the courage and imagination of the Ladies of Llangollen, PEERS presents a grand ball.
Bangers and Mash, one of this country's premiere English country dance bands, plays an evening of romantic waltzes and lively English Country dances from the late 18th Century and early 19th Century. All country dances will be taught and called at the balls. No partners required. There will be a 7 pm dance workshop in Georgian and Regency country dancing followed by formal dancing from 8 pm to midnight.
Late Georgian or Regency costume or modern evening dress is admired but not required.
Our usual excellent No Host bar will be available and a light snack buffet will be served (Potluck finger-food contributions are very welcome!).
