Newt Scamander, returning to New York in 1927 for a promotional tour of his book, "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them," is invited to what he BELIEVES is a book-signing party but which turns out to be a very, very different kind of party...

Much to his surprise, the literary salon is on the ground floor but there also appear to be not one but two speakeasies in the hall - one upstairs in the grand ballroom and one below stairs in the Rathskellar. Join us for the season's wildest dance party, which we can only describe as "Fantastic Speakeasies and Where to Find Them!"

1920's costume or vintage or modern evening dress is admired but not required, and costumes inspired by the Harry Potter books and films are very welcome.

In the grand ballroom (upstairs), Sara & Swingtime plays the greatest hits of the Roaring Twenties and early 30's, including both classic Swing and Blues and vintage ballroom dances - even waltzes that Newt himself can dance.  In the dark, mysterious speakeasy below stairs will be blues dancing featuring a variety of song stylists.

There will be light refreshments (Your potluck contributions to the buffet will be welcome) and a great no host bar on both dance floors!
