Step into a magical castle ballroom at the historic Alameda Elks Lodge for an enchanted evening inspired by classic animation, storybooks, and magical kingdoms, featuring live music by Franklin Beau Davis and The Brassworks, famous for their wonderful arrangements of classic Viennese Waltzes and of classical music for ballroom dancing. The Brassworks will play a varied program, ranging from Victorian rotary waltzes, Viennese waltzes, polkas, mazurka waltzes, and schottisches to quadrilles, set dances, and mixers.
Doors open at 6:30 pm and there will be a pre-ball dance class in Victorian ballroom dance at 7 pm followed by formal dancing to live music from 8 pm to midnight. No partners required and all set dances will be taught and called at the ball.
Fantasy or historical attire inspired by cinematic, television, or literary fairytales is admired but not required. The magical kingdom includes everything from royal nobility and fairies to space rangers and pirates. Formal vintage or modern evening wear is equally welcome.
There will be light refreshments and a no host (cash) bar.
