Join us for an elegant assembly ball set in the world of Mozart and Salieri.

The Divertimento Dance Orchestra will play a selection of Mozart’s most beautiful waltzes and contredanses and some anachronistic polkas set to Mozart tunes. And, of course, we will dance the wildly popular Congress of Vienna Waltz and Sir Roger de Coverley.

Don't know a hey for four from an allemande? Never fear! There will be a pre-ball workshop from 7 to 8pm in late 18th Century country dance, and all country dances will be briefly taught and called. No partners needed either for the dance class or the ball. Most of us change partners frequently!

Late 18th century or early 19th century Regency (1811-1820) costume is admired, but not required, and modern evening dress is a perfectly acceptable alternative to period costume. For costume inspiration and basic background information, we recommend the film "Amadeus" and Mozart’s own letters.

At intermission we’ll have a concert of Mozart’s most popular vocal music. A light snack buffet and our celebrated no host (cash) bar will be available for most of the evening.
