Fezziwig's Warehouse Dance Party is an interactive theatrical experience at the Great Dickens Christmas Fair. It reproduces the classic scene from A Christmas Carol where the Ghost of Christmas Past takes Ebenezer Scrooge to a joy-filled Christmas party at his place of employment as a young man. Costumed participants welcome guests to a delightful old-fashioned Christmas party to join in games, dances, and the spirit of the season.
The Fezziwig Party Dancers provide dancers for this part of the Dickens Fair. We will be doing demonstration dances as well as instructing the guests in the dances of 19th Century England, while portraying characters of the period and interacting with the guest in character.
The Great Dickens Christmas Fair has been a Bay Area tradition since 1970. It is an immersive adventure into the world of Charles Dickens' Victorian London.
Fezziwig's Warehouse Christmas Party is a re-creation of an office party in the late Georgian or early Victorian period. After the day's labour on Christmas Eve Mr. Fezziwig shuts down work and hosts a delightful party for his employees, his family, their neighbours, and their friends.
Revisiting Mr. Fezziwig's party is a turning point in the redemption of Ebenezer Scrooge, and our re-creation of the party is designed to emphasize the joy and good fellowship the party represents. It is a place of happiness and love, and everyone is at their best. Everyone is invited, everyone is welcome, and the joy of the Christmas season fills the air.
The Fezziwig Party Dancers are dedicated to providing an inclusive and harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, culture, race, age or religion.
